Thanks to Corey for running
this guest post over on his Simple Marriage site. It's already generated some great comments--mostly critical. I need to follow up and site the research backing up my statement there that "study after study" has demonstrated that pornography use decreases the viewer's satisfaction with and attraction to his or her partner. I see couples so immersed in the problems that result from porn that I start to think that these conclusions are not only backed by good research but also by common sense...
Just wanted to say it was a great article and I very much appreciate people who are spreading the message of the damage porn CAN cause. It's a shame that some feel they need to argue to the death that it can't harm. Thanks for spreading the message despite all the nay-sayers.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting article, with some insight. But your opening analogy falls flat because coconut oil is healthy stuff. That same unreputable group you mention got people off of saturated fat and onto transfat, which as we are now becoming aware is unhealthy. I note that you PHD is in Psychology and so I say two things: 1) maybe you should understand that the government and other interests are lying to us about the healthiness of food and 2) I am just as competent a commenter on nutrition as you.
